Kacy Cox Memorial - RIP my friend
« on: 07/18/11 12:13PM »
For those of you that would visit the Laguna Hills Cycle Gear store and had the fortune of interacting with Kacy (aka KC), you knew you were in good hands.  I will always remember his smile as I would walk in and his willingness to help; he will be sorely missed by myself and anyone that had the fortune of knowing him.

The details of his passing have not been disclosed to me, other than it wasn't motorcycle related.  I haven't seen anyone post something on his memorial, but his good friend Ryan said it was ok for me to post the memorial info here for those who remember him and would like to attend and pay their respects.

Friday July 22nd
11:00-12:30 Mariners Church, 5001 Newport Coast Drive, Irvine, CA 92603

Memorial reception is going to be held at the church right after from 12:30-2:30pm

If you are wanting to send flowers, please advise the florist to have them delivered 1 hour prior the 11am service and deliver to the address above (Kacy Cox Memorial)

RIP in peace my friend.....

I'm sorry to hear this Rani. Which one was KC? I don't know names, but remember faces.

KC is the one on the right and that's his best friend Ryan on the left who also used to work at Cycle Gear.

Kacy was a super cool dude. I used to love to talk to he and Ryan about cycling when I would visit the store. The two of them are the reason I used to go to the Lake Forest store even though I live in Long Beach. I remember Kacy explaining the reason riders would go down during races shown on the screens at the store. He described going into the sand as hitting the 'kitty-litter'.

Condolences to his family.

Rest well Kacy.

I don't believe it. If he is who I think he is, he's the one whose help I had in getting my leather riding pants. He was patient and nice and he let me walk out of the store wearing them to sit on my bike to see how they feel. It was tricky getting the connecting zipper(i had the matching jacket) and he got that for me. I've bought other items on other occasions when he was at the register. I'm sad that he's moved on. Every time I saw him at Cycle Gear, I can tell he had some kind of calm alertness, some kind of Zen or something. He was fully competent and able and if the store were to be packed and things got stressful, he probably wouldn't let it get to him.

I don't know what to say here....I talked to the man everytime I went in...he sold me my first suit.  He was my neighbor.  Very saddened by this...

WOW, honestly I am super bummed about this.  I always looked forward to seeing him at the shop.  He helped me pick out my first gear when I was getting ready to get my bike.  Always super friendly and joked around with my buddy and I when we were in the shop.

R.I.P. Buddy

Just wanna say thank you to everyone who attended. He will be deeply missed =(.

If you missed a chance to join us at the memorial, find the thread for our bike night on Aug 4th, to come sign a Remembrance book for his family.
