I would personally stick to alpinestars or dainese myself. They are big name which means they have the money to put into research/development of their suits. as far as where to buy....ebay or an internet store will save you a good amount over the dealers. BUT do try one on somewhere prior to purchasing it to be sure its comfortable and fits you well. If you need help let me know and ill see what I can do.

Cycle has deals on Frank Thomas all the time. Go try them and see how they fit. I had a two piece that was great since I could mix/match the sizes. Or you may be one of the lucky ones that can buy a full suit off the rack.

Z Customs in Huntington Beach is a great place also. They are more expensive, but its a totally custom suit. Depending on how a regular off-the-shelf suit will fit you, you might consider going there anyway. For the most part mass produced suit are meant to fit a specific body type, if you dont have that type then you'll probably want to tailor it in the long run anyway. www.zcustom.com714-890-5721

So I just went and bought a one piece Technic leather suit. 203-374054 if anyone cares what type. I paid 499.00. I know I could have saved a couple bucks internet shopping, but it was an impulse buy and I wanted to try i on. Anyway I sure feel safer. When i'm ready for the track i'll be prepared.

I had to get a 54 lol. But I'm 6'1 225
I like it blk and drk gray.
Do they wear in a bit. It's a little stiff shoulder to inseam. Kinda like the torso is a bit short. I guess after a few hundred miles it should conform a bit looser. Doesnt seem to be a weight issue in the waist, just stiff in the shoulders a bit.

Whenever getting a new suit depending on size and how snug it fits it will always be a little tight in the beginning. After a while it will loosen up and be more comfortable.

Agreed that it will move around better after being worn for a bit.

Chaparral out in San Bernardino has some as well. Based on their website, they carry alpinestar, spidi, and joe rocket. www.chaparral-racing.comandy

I am curious about the advantages of a one peice versus a two piece suit. I know nothing about full suits so any info is helpful. I like the idea of a two piece, so I can ride with just the jacket when I head to work (with knee pads and such under my normal pants of course) and full suit on long rides. Also, any suggestions as far as boots go? I would like to get some boots that don't look totally goonish when I am off the motorcycle, whether I be at work or at the movies or whatever.

I can verify that newenough.com is a great place to shop...check out their closeouts, they have some awesome deals. I bought a perforated leather MotoGP jacket (full elbow and shoulder armor + foam back pad) from them a few months back, normal retail is about $370 or so and they had it on close out for $130! Then, I found matching textile "overpants" with hip and knee padding for like $60 (regular price waslike $130)! The nice thing about the overpants is that you they function a bit like chaps in that there is a zipper + velcro all the way up each leg so it's real easy to get in and out of them. Can wear pants under them (like to work) or shorts if you're riding somewhere that you'll be hanging out for a while. With the velcro and zippers, you have lots of "vents" for those warm days too.
On a canyon ride, I do wear my leather pants, but not much more often than that.

hey, thank you for the info, I just checked out newenough.com and they had some decent deals, and I like the little review they put on there. Just kinda lets you know if it's worth buying.
